Before you come in
Do I need an appointment?
No. Walk in any time we're open and we'll look at your phone right away. Appointments aren't a thing here.
How long will I be waiting?
Most screens and batteries take about 30 minutes. Charging ports are closer to 45. Water damage we keep for a day or two. If we're mid-repair when you arrive, we'll tell you honestly how long before we can start yours.
Should I back up my phone first?
Yes, if you can. Repairs don't touch your data, but a phone that's already damaged can fail at any time, and a backup means that's an inconvenience instead of a disaster.
Do you need my passcode?
We need the phone unlocked to test the repair properly before you pay. If the touchscreen is dead we'll work around it, but bring the code with you.
The repair itself
Will I lose my photos and messages?
No. Replacing a screen, battery, port or camera doesn't touch what's stored on the phone. The only time data is at risk is severe liquid or board damage, and we'll tell you up front if that's the situation.
Do you fix Androids or only iPhones?
Both. iPhone, Samsung Galaxy, Google Pixel, Motorola, LG, OnePlus and most other Androids, plus iPads, Galaxy Tabs and Apple Watches.
My phone is old. Is it still worth fixing?
Often, yes — a battery or screen is a small fraction of what a new phone costs. But if we think you're about to spend good money on a phone that's going to give you trouble anyway, we'll say so rather than take the job.
What if you can't fix it?
You don't pay for a repair that didn't work. We'll explain what we found and help you get whatever data we can off the device.
Is there a warranty?
Yes. If the part we fitted stops working the way it should, bring the phone back and we'll take care of it. A fresh drop or new damage is a new repair, and we'll be upfront about the difference.
Price and payment
What will it cost?
It depends on your exact model and what's broken — the same crack costs different amounts on different phones. Checking the phone and quoting you is free, and you only pay if you decide to go ahead.
Can you quote me over the phone?
Usually, if you know your exact model. Call us with the model name and what's wrong and we'll give you a number. We'll confirm it once we see the phone.
Do I pay before or after?
After. You see the repair tested and working first.
Water damage
My phone got wet — what do I do right now?
Turn it off and leave it off. Don't plug it in and don't try to charge it, because power running through a wet board is what actually destroys it. Bring it in as soon as you can.
Does the rice trick work?
No. Rice doesn't pull moisture out of a sealed phone, and it pushes starch and dust into the ports. What matters is getting the phone opened and the corrosion cleaned off the board quickly.
Can you guarantee a water-damaged phone?
No, and anyone who does is guessing. Liquid damage depends on what got in, where it went and how long it sat. We'll clean it, dry it and test it, and tell you straight what we find.
Still wondering about something?
Call the shop and ask. It's a two-minute conversation and it costs nothing.
