Every repair starts the same way: we look at the device in front of you, tell you what's actually wrong, and give you the price. Nothing gets opened up until you say yes, and the check itself is free.
Cracked and broken screens
The most common thing that walks through our door. We replace the whole display assembly, not just the glass, so the touch response, brightness and colour all come back to normal at the same time.
Bring it in if: the glass is spidered, the touch is dead in patches, there are green or pink lines down the screen, the display flickers, or half the screen has gone black.
Batteries that don't last
Phone batteries wear out after roughly two years of daily charging. A new one costs a fraction of a new phone and makes an older handset feel usable again.
Bring it in if: you're dead by mid-afternoon, the phone shuts off at 30% and restarts, it gets hot while charging, or it dies the moment you step outside in a Minnesota winter.
Charging ports
Half the time this isn't a repair at all — the port is just packed solid with pocket lint. We check and clean it first, and if that solves it, that's the end of the visit. If the port itself is damaged, we replace it.
Bring it in if: you have to hold the cable at an angle, it charges only sometimes, the cable falls out on its own, or your computer no longer sees the phone.
Back glass
Cracked back glass is worth dealing with sooner rather than later — it catches on your pocket, it can cut your fingers, and it lets moisture and dust reach the inside of the phone. On phones with wireless charging, a bad break can stop the charging pad working too.
Cameras
A blurry or hazy camera is often just the little glass lens cover on the outside, which is a quick and inexpensive fix. If the camera module itself has failed — black screen, won't focus, shakes and rattles — we replace the module.
Water damage
Liquid damage is a cleaning job, not a parts swap, and it's the one repair nobody can promise. We open the phone, clean corrosion off the board, dry it properly and test it.
Right now, before you come in: turn it off and leave it off. Don't plug it in to see if it works — power plus liquid is what actually kills the board. And skip the rice; it does nothing but push starch into the ports. The sooner we see it, the better your odds.
Speakers, microphones and buttons
If people keep saying you sound muffled or far away, it's often just the mic mesh clogged with dust, which we clean. We also replace earpiece speakers, loudspeakers, power buttons and volume buttons.
Tablets and smartwatches
iPad and Galaxy Tab screens, batteries and charging ports, plus Apple Watch screens. Tablet glass is thinner and slower to work with than a phone, so these usually take longer — we'll give you a realistic pickup time when you drop it off.
Cases, screen protectors and accessories
Tempered glass protectors fitted in store so there are no bubbles or dust under the edge, plus cases, charging cables and adapters. If we've just replaced your screen, putting a protector on it the same day is the cheapest insurance there is.
Devices we work on
iPhone, Samsung Galaxy, Google Pixel, Motorola, LG, OnePlus and most other Android phones. iPad, Samsung Galaxy Tab and Apple Watch. If your model isn't on this list, ask — the answer is usually yes.
Not sure which one of these is your problem?
That's fine, and it's the normal way people arrive. Bring the device in and we'll work it out at the counter in a couple of minutes, free.
